In your posts you will need to discuss  the journey that Portraiture has taken over its' history. For example the movement from Rich and Powerful people having expensive portraits made for them to the works of Portraiture photographers depicting the inner conflicts and catching their subjects in moments when they are least prepared.

Look at work of at least one of the following photographers and discuss:
Tony Vaccaro

Vaccaro is a war Photographer who was drafted to war in 1944 and 1945 who landed in Normandy then Germany; so he got a range of what war was like and got a lot of pictures but the pictures of allies who where dead where censored out due to propaganda.
After Vaccaro got discharged from his regiment he stayed in Germany to do photography for a newspaper. A lot of his war photography was never properly seen as it was damaged out in the harsh conditions in combat. Vaccaro even devoloped his own negatives on the  battlefield too also the frustration of getting all the negatives done in a helmet finally paid off.

This image to the right is an image of a German soldier returning home from war to find out that his home has been blown to pieces and his family have gone too from either death or gotten out of the country.
